As the days shorten and the veil between worlds grows thin, we gather at the edge of the woods for a weekend devoted to the mysteries of the Underworld.

Drawing inspiration from ancient stories of descent and return, The Underworld invites us into the strange and fertile terrain beneath the surface: the realm of roots and bones, dreams and ancestors, darkness and mystery, endings and transformation. Together, we'll explore the mythology and symbolism of the Underworld through ritual, creativity, divination, storytelling, nature, and embodied practice.

Over the course of the weekend, we'll cross thresholds, wander the autumn woods, gather around the fire, make magical things with our hands, share beautiful meals, tend altars, explore dreams and symbols, and create space for both reverence and irreverence. There will be darkness and candlelight, laughter and weirdness, deep conversation and plenty of room simply to enjoy being witches together.

This weekend is an invitation to become curious about what can only be encountered when we are willing to enter the dark, to listen for what lives beneath the noise of ordinary life and discover what we might carry back with us when we return.

Camp Amnicon:

The lodge at Camp Amnicon has a beautiful central fireplace with seating area, small kitchen area, sauna, access to coffee and tea all day, indoor bathrooms and showers, and two bunk rooms. There are a myriad of hiking trails and access to Lake Superior and the Amnicon River—an incredible retreat destination in the heart of the South Shore wilderness.

*Private cabins may be available. Please contact Camp Amnicon directly to check availability.

This retreat will include a morning practice such as yoga, free time for rest and reflection, and workshops with Indwelling Guides. We will also have massage therapists on site.

The retreat cost includes breakfast, which is provided by Indwelling. For dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, please bring a potluck item. This is a beautiful way to care for each other with nourishing food and also keeps the retreat cost at a reasonable price.
